I’ve been back from Israel for a while now however it took a long time to get some photos to post. I was with a film crew and they have what they refer to as, a “Stills” photographer who takes photos all day.masada-summit.jpg Everywhere we went we had a photographer so many of us didn’t bring our cameras. I just received hundreds of photos from the “Stills” crew and each one has a story.  I am posting a couple of shots from the filming of the music video “Never Again” which was shot on top of Masada overlooking the Dead Sea.masada-shoot.jpg

Three more sleeps until Israel. The filming of the video takes place next Wednesday on Masada. Some folks were asking me what my last video was. I’ve included a link to it here. This was solo video shot in the streets of Vancouver. See if you can guess who the actress in the video is?

I am excited to announce that my next video will be filmed in Israel on top of MASADA

My song “Never Again” is being used for a film being shot September 08 in Israel. I will be performing the song on top of Masada and hopefully it won’t be too hot. I will be blogging during this trip so watch for my emails and blog posts.

Masada

Get your tickets now - I’m warning you!!! It was a sellout last year and many people asked me why we didn’t get a bigger venue. The answer is silly - there weren’t any available. We went through the same situation this year. We almost got a larger hall in Cloverdale but it is quite a bit further out for people. Here is the info:

Check out the poster (8.5×11)!

I recently played for the Women Alive conference and had a wonderful time. The MC was Laura-Lynn Tyler and she always makes me laugh so hard, I absolutely love working with her. The ladies had a very emotional day and by the comments I heard afterwords, it was a very meaningful and enriching program.

I’m always honoured to be the “token” guy at these events and luckily this time I brought my wife. When I sang the “Anniversary Song” for once I could validate my story by asking her to stand up and flash the diamond. (If you don’t know the story you’ll have to download “The Anniversary Song” and listen to the lyrics :)

Thanks to all the gals that worked so hard to make the event so spectacular!

The Vancouver Whitecaps took on the LA Galaxy at BC Place Stadium last night. 50,000 soccer fans turned out to see Superstar David Beckham. The cool thing is that my daughter Allie was invited to play with her team during half-time!

The girls were thrilled to be playing on the same turf as the husband of Posh (Spice Girl) and in front of a crowd that big. As a proud dad I accompanied them to the field just before half-time and snapped a few pics while they warmed up.

Allie’s team is the Tsawwassen Triple Threat and they are the current BC Provincial Champions (U13).  The game they played was a 20 minute “friendly” against their arch rivals The Surrey Lightning.  Allie’s team went on to win  2-1 and just minutes before the game ended, number 23 came onto the field to watch them! Yes, David Beckham stood at the side of the field with us and watched our girls play. When the final whistle blew David Beckham graciously signed jerseys and shook hands. Allie froze . . .  even though I had my camera poised to capture her and her heroe, she just stood in awe of the handsome celebrity. After the game game all she could talk about on the way home was how much “hotter” he was in person.

David Beckham is a class act. Watching him interact with the kids and performing his “Million Dollar” duties to promote soccer in North America is not an act. This guy is the real deal and I am so glad that there are still role models like him that young people can look up to. We need more Wayne Gretzkys and David Beckhams and fewer Paris Hiltons and Brittany Spears’.  Allie will never forget playing soccer in front of 50,000 fans with David Beckham cheering them on. It was a truly special night for all of us.

Happy Thanksgiving. I am so blessed to live where we do, enjoy the lifestyle we do and to have health, a lovely family and be able to make music, art and share it with others. I am truly thankful for the blessings God has given to our family. I wish you and yours all the best during this time of turkey and pumkin pie!

Just confirmed a date for The Colin Arthur Band - November 17 . Tickets go on sale Oct. 1 and it will be a sell out again. I recently spent a week on a 67ft boat with our friends the Delf’s and my family at Desolation Sound.

This magnificent marine park has a magical almost mystical magnetism that draws boaters from around the world and because the water is warmer it’s awesome for swimming, waterskiing and snorkeling. It is situated at the top of the Sunshine Coast and the pristine waters of are surrounded by steep snowcapped mountains. Many regard the Desolation Sound area as one of the most beautiful areas in the world and after spending a week there I would have to agree.

I thought I would share a life lesson I learned while on my summer vacation.

I want to share a story with you that can act as a metaphor for anyone who has set a goal but may still be struggling to achieve it.

The face of Calgary has changed alot. The oil money has been good to this town and it shows. Tonight we are playing at the a downtown venue that was bought by the Calgary Flames. It’s private function and other acts on the show include Doc Walker, Beverly Mahood and others. It’s a beautifully renovated venue and I am sure the evening will be a success.
